Anamaria is one of thousands of children in Romania, abandoned and left behind to fend for themselves. At age nine, her parents leave her heartbroken, with nothing more than memories and a note telling her to take care of her dying grandmother. After breaking free from abusive living conditions, she must confront the demons of her childhood in her adult life, battling trust issues and frequent memories of her scarred past. She longs for a quiet normal life, but after meeting a beautiful woman in a downtown market, she begins to realize the monsters from her youth are still haunting her waking life.

Anamaria is still struggling to make her way through the world as different situations and unforeseen circumstances begin to present themselves causing unprecedented outcomes. As things seem to be the darkest, a small light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. After amending their differences, Denisa helps Anamaria through the struggles of motherhood while Anamaria still wonders if she’ll ever be able to meet her parents again. From waking up from a coma, to finally seeing justice be served, Anamaria simply just wants to adjust to a normal life as best as she can with Denisa. This story follows the journey of one woman as she simply tries to deal with the struggles of her past, present and inevitable future as she holds onto what’s most precious in her life. After almost thirty years, Anamaria finally gets a chance to find her parents. With the birth of her baby, she has to make sacrifices as well as make decisions as to whether it is still worth sacrificing all she has left in order to find her parents. Anamaria takes a journey through her past as she unravels the clues that will ultimately lead her to find out the answer that she’s been burning for almost thirty years. Follow Anamaria as she travels from old familiar childhood places to a city she’s never been to be for, all for the sake of finding out the truth about herself but also about her childhood. One can only guess as to where her investigations will lead her, but with the help of Denisa and an old family friend, one can only hope that all the answers she’s been looking for were right under her nose.
