Isaac Asimov Presents the Great Science Fiction Stories Series by Isaac Asimov (##1-3, 7-8, 13-15, 17-19, 23-24)
Requirements: ePUB reader, 10.0mb
Overview: John H. Jenkins said it best, calling this series "a museum of science fiction," Beginning in 1979 and continuing on until 1992, Publisher Daw called upon Isaac Asimov and Martin H. Greenberg to assemble the greatest science fiction stories of the Golden Age. The series begins in with stories from 1939 ("I, Robot") and ends 25 volumes and years later in 1963 with Phillip K. Dick. Notably, each story has a short introduction from Asimov or Greenberg or both and, happily, each editor is credited — you can see which opinion is coming from which editor! The final volume has no introductory material from Asimov because he had died, but Greenberg explains that the series had always been designed to end with the fiction of 1963. This is a carefully curated, grounded in historicity and — unlike some of the things that Asimov was credited with editing — guided by Asimov’s taste and breadth of knowledge.
