1. Fulcrum
John Forest was famous. His intervention piloting an experimental fighter at the Battle of the Markus Nebula turned the tide against the Globurs and made him a hero. That was over 20 years ago. Now, he is recently retired and trying to settle into his new life on Earth.
The imperial senate called the war and ongoing skirmishes an "incursion." Globurs probe for weakness and attack without mercy. In the interstellar space along the rim frontier, fleet outposts and patrolling task forces continue to defend humanity in a stalemate that has lasted decades. Now, the stalemate has been broken. The lives of billions are at risk.

2. Contact
The Imperial Survey Service has four levels of classification for the detection of non-human intelligence. Level one is the most common, possible evidence of non-human intelligence. Level two, clear evidence of non-human intelligence. Level three is verified signs of non-human intelligence. Level three has a very high burden of proof, requiring verified artifacts. It is the last step before level four – Contact.
3. Onslaught
Following disastrous first contact, a reckless plan is hatched. Lieutenant Sante and his platoon of Marines, including the irrepressible Sanderson, remain stranded on a hostile planet. Maverick corvette captain Karl Zenke is one of the captains dispatched to rescue them, along with the priceless information they possess.
Contact is lost with the Brahma system shortly after the Imperial Survey ship Profectus, following their escape from the Globurs, transmits limited details of first contact on a high energy transit through the system.
Humanity has grown complacent, thinking they were alone in the galaxy. At the Gateway base, stunned by the loss of his ships, Rear Admiral Shin prepares Fleet task force 3 to defend the rim worlds. Nothing can prepare them for the Onslaught.
4. Redoubt
Fleet Task Force 13 (TF13) is on approach to the Alsace system, now in alien hands. Karl Zenke wonders if there are any survivors aboard the drifting remains of two shattered task forces sent to defend the system.
To find out, TF13 only has to get past the same Globur battlegroups that savaged a force more than twice the size of TF13. The drifting wrecks of TF6 and TF3 are dotted with alien boarding pods from the titanic clash weeks ago. Now, they may contain only hostile aliens.
Forming spontaneously in the core systems, the "People for Peace" (PFP) move towards the rim, gathering supporters. The PFP believe the Globur are peaceful, the incursion a misunderstanding. Only death awaits them unless they can be turned back, but how?
More warships are being rushed to completion to replace the devastating losses. For now, only TF13 stands as humanity’s shield. They must buy the desperately needed time and delay the seemingly invincible Globur. Can a new strategy blunt the incursion?
5. Sword
Which system the Globur will target next is unknown. The size and strength of the enemy forces are also – unknown. What is known is that no system has ever been defended successfully, and fear grips the rim worlds. TF15 stands alone against the alien onslaught.Rear Admiral Jones is a new task force commander, as untested as his new ships. TF15 has every advantage that humanity can provide, and Jones has added a few of his own. Captain Zenke commands one of his destroyers, and onboard his flagship is every surviving Marine veteran of the Globur incursion.
For the first time, sealed orders authorize Jones to take the offensive where he sees an advantage. Jones moves to execute his new strategy, hoping to finally, successfully, defend systems under threat.At Fleet headquarters, battles take place to gain the support and resources needed to stem the alien tide. Politicians continue to suppress the truth as they pursue their agendas. Some offer support, some look for personal profit, and some support the People for Peace, blaming the Fleet for the conflict. Grand Admiral Medici fights the political establishment, risking treason in the hope of victory. The Fleet has been the shield of humanity. Now they must become the Sword. The victorious have no sins.
