1. The Crash
One final mission separates Thomas ‘Mack’ Mackenzie from a life of leisure with Anna, his beautiful wife, but Grace Everly, a convicted computer hacker, is no ordinary mission for the elite military man. This mission will have him escorting the prisoner across America. When things go awry, Mack finds himself in the middle of a forest surrounded by the plane’s debris. Initially, he believes the crash to have been the result of a mechanical error, but soon discovers that the electrical malfunction may have been the result of an EMP. As the sole survivors, Mack and Grace will have to band together to find their way to a military bunker for shelter, but she lacks the necessary skills and means to survive. Will her inexperience be too much of a cross to bear? Can they find out the truth about what caused the devastating crash before succumbing to the elements?
2. The Path Ahead
After his plan to save the farm failed, Mack is left doubting himself and his skills. In the old world, his successes were many. In this new world, nothing is guaranteed and no one can be trusted. To achieve any semblance of a victory, he’ll have to change his outlook, but doing so may place him in even graver danger. His sense of duty and ideals are tested when he encounters a stranger in need of help. Struggling to relinquish the man he once was and become the man he’s required to be now; Mack makes a decision that could threaten everything. Will his kind gesture lead him down the path to more danger?
3. The Detour To Danger
Hopeful that they’ll find remnants of civilization left in the city, Mack and the group must contend with the after-effects of Mr. Smith. Fractured by broken alliances and distrust, the group’s safety is on the line. Their resolve is shaken even further when an unexpected encounter forces them to make the most difficult decision yet – one that will have long-lasting implications for all of them.
4. Into The City
Left with no time to spare, Mack and the group reluctantly leave the Archer Institute and traverse their way through the forest, but their journey to salvation on the other side will not be without peril. Finding a safe haven in the city means they’ll have to trust a new group – one that strangely mirrors them and all they’ve endured since the world collapsed. Could their quest for a better life lead to their deaths? Who are they to trust in a world marred by destruction and despair?
5. Hostile Grounds
A reunification with friends is overshadowed by the promise of death that looms heavily over the settlement. Mack focuses on minimizing casualties while a new, more insidious danger creeps closer, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Can Mack prevent the deadly assault before it annihilates all they’ve worked so hard to maintain?
6. Restoring Law
After surviving the most brutal attack on the settlement yet, Mack and his group mourn the loss of life, and hope they’ll recover from the frightening ordeal soon. As they try to rebuild the settlement, Grace urges Mack to call an emergency meeting to determine the future of the settlement and its inhabitants. With Anna by his side now, Mack firmly believes all will go well, but someone else has a plan of their own that may halt progress and throw their lives into chaos again. Is the group ready to face another challenge or will this unwelcome surprise bring them to a halt?
7. Restoring Order
A new wave of despair falls over the settlement after the discovery of Peter’s body. As the gravity of the loss sinks in, Mack deals with the murder while newly elected Sheriff Maggie and her deputy search for the killer. However, soon it becomes apparent that most people aren’t terribly sorry to learn of his death. Without any evidence to go on and a growing list of potential suspects, finding the elusive murderer will be difficult. Still the murder isn’t the only thing that plagues the settlement. Mack and the others will need the strength and will power to overcome the obstacles which are soon to come.
8. Rifts From The Sea
Mack and the people of New Haven have welcomed Flint and his crew of sailors with open arms, but it doesn’t take long for them to figure out that something is not right. Tristan along with other members of their group have been taken prisoner aboard the ship, but that might not be the worst of it. There are other secrets—darker secrets—that the crew may be harboring, and it will be up to Mack and his team to expose just what it is they are up to and why. Will their quest to save their people and uncover the truth expose far more than they could have ever imagined, and more importantly, will they survive?
9. Against The Depths
Held against their will, Grace and her patrol are at the mercy of the sewer-dwellers. The longer they remain captive, the harder it will be to find food. Even if they break free, there’s no guarantee they’ll survive the labyrinth of sewers and secrets that lie ahead. Back at the settlement, Mack anxiously awaits Grace’s return. New Haven’s future hinges on Grace’s mission. If things go awry, he’ll be forced to make face the biggest challenge yet—one that will change everyone’s life. Will Grace’s fight for freedom entered her into a deal with the devil?
