It turns out, I’ve been chosen to be a ‘champion’ in some deadly game: an annual death-match tournament, played by a group of galactic princesses from another star system. Each year, they pick a new planet, pick a new set of champions, and pit them against one another, like some twisted dog-fighting league. The winner apparently goes on to be a ‘Star Guardian’ in their Celestial Army.
The princess who picked me, Lyris, Princess of Chromaxia, gave me her moon’s super-strength powers. And now, if I win a fight and kill my opponent, I can steal his powers as well, whatever they may be.
But I don’t want any part of this. I’m not cut out for battle; I’m more of a pedicure and bubblebath kind of guy. I need to find a way out of this before one of these bloodthirsty killers stomps my head in.
