Kat Makris Greek Mafia series by Alex A. King (#9,11)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 568KB
Overview: Alex A. King is the author of the Women of Greece series and the Kat Makris: Greek Mafia series. She writes under the kitchen table, in the pantry, and sometimes while hiding behind the couch; basically anywhere her three-year-old can’t find her. Her books are funny because life is funny. Yes, even tragedy is hilarious, especially when it’s happening to your enemies. While her stories are filled with terrible mothers, her own is wonderful. Her mother wrote this biography, by the way.
Genre: Fiction > Mystery/Thriller

9. Christmas Crime
You better not pout, you better not die … Kat Makris’ time in Greece is up.
She’s been kidnapped, shot, and used as a corpse’s mattress … and that’s on the good days when her grandmother isn’t drugging the cookies. Why stay in Greece when there is no safer place for Kat and her menagerie of unusual pets than her childhood home in Portland, Oregon?
Yes, Kat is quitting Greece and the Greek mob mostly fine-ish. So what if Hipster Burger’s fake mustache is giving her a rash? At least she’s working, right? And there’s a tiny issue with her other new job, but nothing the fire department and Homeland Security can’t fix. Kat’s biggest problem is that the Greek mob can’t quit Kat—and they’re coming for her just in time for Christmas.

11. Party Crime
Kat Makris is back in PARTY CRIME, and she’s about to be late for work–again.
Grandma has decided that it’s time for another family party, a low key affair that won’t rattle the local gossip machine. If Kat has any reservations about the party, they sizzle up when an explosion rocks the compound.
The suspect list is a mile long. Grandma’s got angry Russians stashed in her dungeon, and her worst sister is resurfacing for the first time in years. And that’s just the family. The Makris Family’s enemies list is longer than the average leg.
Before she can blink—or tell her boss she won’t be showing up to the morgue for work—Kat finds herself whisked away to a farm. (Not the big farm in the sky where the good dogs go, but Grandma’s farm in the middle of nowhere, Greece.)
Kat being Kat, she’s not about to stay put. When the Russians turn the tables on Grandma, it’s up to Kat and Marika to ride to the rescue to save the family, armed with nothing more than Kat’s existential angst and Marika’s gnawing hunger.
