Overview: Xiong Mao and Shadow are three students entering the curriculum of the Faculty of Education Heroes Academic (FEAH), a university training for superheroes.
- Between current strategy and practical work of branding, they will encounter many difficulties, between the direction of their classmates and students from other universities. After housing problems, they live together in a campus tour.

Originally published in black and white decorated with a single chapter colorized, Freaks’ Squeele been, from February 2012, a fully colorized reissue and "classic" format Franco-Belgian comics. This new format requires each volume divided into two volumes. The author sees this initiative as a way to promote the series to the widest possible audience.
The author describes his inspiration from both the manga and Cinema graphic style, alternating galore details and angles. Maudoux acknowledges having drawn inspiration from Hong Kong cinema (The Arm of Revenge, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin …) and filmography of Tsui Hark, Johnnie Tobut also by the Coen brothers and John Carpenter.
Aside from a colorized chapter, the majority of the albums original format is done in black and white. It is a graphic choice, on the one hand, to emphasize the lights and atmosphere, as well as an editorial choice, on the other hand, the series being claimed by its author as "Series B".
Some critics see in graphics a clear influence of Rumiko Takahashi.
