Legacies of Leigh Brackett’s prolific and very distinguished career include screenplays and novels in every genre. She is remembered for her work on the movie version of Raymond Chandler’s The Big Sleep, among many others. Appropriately, her last credit was the screenplay for The Empire Strikes Back, which was dedicated to her posthumously.
