Overview: Set in ancient Africa, Lunja is a princess in the desert kingdom of Kalari. She is of fair skin, so fair that the sun is a problem to her. In other words, she is an albino. In Kalari, albinos and any person deformed from birth is considered wajefa (cursed one). The old king abolished the law, but now he is dead and his son, Gwafa has ascended the throne and his primary aim is to see Lunja; his own junior sister, dead.
With the help of her younger brother, Aksil, Lunja escapes Kalari and flees south to a kingdom Aksil claims accepts wajefa like herself. She is put under the guidance and care of a foreigner, Akhtoi. Can he be trusted?
