Overview: The future was stolen. Ideology overtook common sense and with it all human compassion. Complete and total freedom has shackled all but the very few to a life of debt and slavery. Even the very capable and bright suffer under the iron fist of corporate dominance. In this game the winners have won long ago. One individual abandoned at a young age and fleeing for his life, is about to turn the world on its head.

Atlas awoke feeling damp. He turned slowly to his left and noticed a few metres away a brown rabbit was munching quietly. Atlas knew he wasn’t going back to that world. If he wanted to belong he had to make his own world; and in this instant his world required food. He slipped his hand into his pocket and unsheathed the knife. He decided he could either run up on the rabbit, stab it or throw the knife. If he ran to the rabbit, it would very likely run for cover and he would lose his breakfast; however, if he threw the knife it might spin in the air and merely strike the rabbit with the handle.

The rock caved in the head of the rabbit instantly. Atlas had thrown a large one from his position in an overarm motion at great speed, which didn’t allow the rabbit to escape in time. He stood over it and rolled the rock back with his shoe; it was unpleasant to see the splattered skull so Atlas removed it swiftly and drained the blood. He cut out the lower bowels to avoid contamination; something he had read about, but he couldn’t picture the book it had been in.

He didn’t have any means to cook this meat, so for now he carried the rabbit by its hind legs onwards northwest. His plan was to reach Almaty city. Hopefully he would be able to disappear among the hundreds of people, and find an orphanage like the ones he’d read about.
