A Ravel Of Waters: PASSAGE TO DANGER… JETWIND is magnificent. The revolutionary computerized sailing ship, swifter than the fastest clipper, will rule the seas-if she can break the speed records from South America to the Cape…But her maiden voyage through the icy South Atlantic becomes a nightmare of terror. Her captain is murdered, her journey is sabotaged by a fanatic nationalist, and both the Russians and the Americans watch her with too much interest. Her new Captain, lone yachtsman Peter Rainer, must find out why-or lose both JETWIND and the woman he loves…

A Bridge of Magpies: U-boat off the Diamond Coast … The U – boat veered. This was the moment I’d been waitng for. I dived. The icy water was a terrible shock. I went down, down, down. Then the U – boat’s black shadow came between me and the surface, the hulk trailing weed and rust. As I kicked myself upwards my hands touched something smooth and round, with a small propeller sticking out from it. I shot to the surface, gasping from fear and lack of air. Denny was coming towards me in the Gaok. I yelled, "keep away! There’s a half fired torpedo under her…"

A Grue of Ice: My hands were already at Walter’s throat as he fought to get clear of his harness. I kicked his feet from under him as he fumbled. I was still held in the strait-jacket grip of the Hotchkiss harness. Walter fell, rolled, dragged himself on one elbow, pullin the Luger from his waistband. He raised the automatic to fire. ‘Hurtles into a maelstrom of action and suspense’

A Twist of Sand: A Twist of Sand is the first-person account of the adventures of Captain Geoffrey Peace, who really goes through a lot. There’s a lovely female scientist whom someone is trying to kill, there’s the Skeleton Coast ("the most dangerous shoreline in the world"), there’s a killing journey across 30 miles of desert, there’s mountain climbing, and there are wild animals: strand wolves, black lions, hyenas, and maybe a few more. The local color’s great, the action is fast, and the hero’s competent and steadfast. Prime stuff for people who like old-fashioned wide-screen high adventure.
