But even Eli has to admit that one serious problem stands between them: every day, Cyril Soldati’s control over the supernatural world tightens. Cyril sees Fitz as a barrier between him and absolute power, a barrier he intends to remove. Though Fitz is resigned to a final fight, he begins to doubt whether he can kill again, even if Cyril’s death would keep the supernatural world safe. He wants to be the kind of man worthy of Eli, but he might not get a choice.
