Overview: One of Yamandu’s earliest memories is related to music and the guitar. He estimates that he would have been between four and five years old the day he took advantage of his father’s temporary lapse of judgement and found himself alone, for the first time, in front of the instrument that had once fascinated him. “My father was afraid that my brother and I would ruin the guitar and so he always kept it on top of a tall piece of furniture. But that day, for some reason, he left it on the couch and walked out of the room. I remember going to the guitar with my hand closed and opening it over the strings, trying to imitate the movement I saw Lúcio Yanel make. And I remember taking something away and being satisfied with what I heard.” The fragile nails of the small hand touched the magical object, which made a sound. That echoes to this day.
