Overview: Eric Lyle leads a rather unremarkable and lonely life. His journalism degree fails to land him a choice job, forcing him to carve out his existence writing outlandish stories for a rag newspaper. He is about as low as one man can go. When he stumbles on the story of a life time, and the smoking hot blue alien warrior who completely upends his life, Eric is not ready for the effect the knee-melting golden eyes has on him.
Xes of the Lehaviin Order is on a mission to bring back a bounty, dead or alive. After a crash landing strands both Xes and his bounty on a small world at the edges of known Galactic space, he is drawn toward the intriguingly attractive Terran. At first, his interest is out of curiosity. It develops deeper by Eric’s resilience under trying circumstances. Xes is powerless in the face of his strong attraction to Eric, wanting to claim the Terran as his own. For a warrior-monk, feelings are not an option. His life has no room for a mate.
With an alien criminal still on the loose, they don’t stand a chance to be together. Once Xes completes his mission, he will return to his Order. Between hunting down the criminal, potential discovery by the men in black, and the arrival of Xes’ Order to extract him when the job is done, there’s no time to discuss their options and time is running out. When Xes is gone, Eric will be alone once more.
