1. The Berlin Affair
Summer, 1940 – Berlin. Catapulted into the world of British espionage, Xanthe Schneider is sent into the terrifying and perilous heart of Nazi Germany. She is tasked with finding out whether a former government minister she had known briefly in London – Ralph Lancing-Price – is a patriot or traitor.

Disguised as an American correspondent, Xanthe sets out to find him. But not all is what it seems. Xanthe soon becomes drawn into a web of intrigue involving a project entitled "Enigma" and an unexpected love affair. As the weeks go by, and Germany begins to mobilise its armies, Xanthe has to revaluate who she can trust and how she can survive.

2. The Athens Assignment
The battleship, Bismarck, is about to set sail… Xanthe Schneider has returned to England with vital information…and heavily pregnant.

In the months that lead up to the birth, Xanthe occupies herself with work but feels increasingly lonely due to her distant father, her traitor ex-lover and being five thousand miles from her home.

After the baby is born, she decides that her duty as a mother must take priority. The baby needs her and nothing will make her return to the field. But the war has other ideas… It is not long before Xanthe finds herself on another mission, one which, if successful, will use the Enigma code to pinpoint the missing battleship and save thousands of lives.

3. The Swiss Appointment
England, Autumn 1941. Xanthe Schneider is starting to feel a little more positive about life, despite the war that rages on. She is comfortable living at Bletchley, her son, Indigo, is a happy, healthy six-month-old and the unwelcome memories of the dangerous missions she undertook to Berlin and Greece are receding.

But Xanthe is still troubled by ‘sightings’ of the man she almost fell in love with, who died in an act of heroism during an air raid. It can’t be him, but yet…

The team at ‘Hut 8’ in Bletchley have been successful at breaking the German coding system but in times of war, technology moves fast, and the Nazis are developing a new, more sophisticated system. The British government know that a factory in neutral Switzerland are supplying Germany with a vital component for their coding machine.

If they could slow down or stop the manufacture of this part, it might just buy them enough time to gain ground on the Nazis. Xanthe is again sent out into the field, under her guise as a journalist, to use her diplomatic skills to influence the course of the war.
