The Normandy invasion was a fiasco and the war in Europe continues. Worn by the setback of the Allies, the Reich Rises thanks to the arrival of Wunderwaffen, these revolutionary weapons that could possibly reverse the course of the War. Major Walter Murnau, the pilot of the devil, is one of the spearheads of the German air force, but despite his commitment, it is far from sharing the ideology of his superiors, which earned him the enmity of the Führer himself.

The main interest of this first volume of Wunderwaffen lies in the scenes of aerial combat that Milorad Vicanović-Maza comes to par with Roman Hugault, aided by an intelligent and dynamic cutting.
The realism of the graphics would almost forget that the handling of the famous Lippish P13A was more akin to that of an iron than that of a Rafale! To regret, however, that the Serbian designer does not have the same ease on land and in the air.

Next, scenario things are more ambiguous and the stereotype of gifted pilot, patriot anti-Nazi but appears somewhat hackneyed even more clearly that lack of depth. However, Olivier Reynaud – aka Richard D. Nolan – seems to want to give this alternate history a dimension that goes beyond the dogfights and technological prowess. Thus, Hitler’s personal enmity Lieutenant Colonel Murnau and secrecy that hangs over the infamous Auschwitz camp may be likely to give body and substance to an album that barely transcend platitudes.

The alternate history is fashionable and can play with history, However, there is always a risk when it comes to evoke the Second World War. Vincent Brugeas and Ronan Toulhoat with Block 109, managed the tricky, hope it will be the same for the next installment Wunderwaffen.
