Overview: Two centuries after a Spanish galleon laden with gold and silver foundered off the Cornish coast, four students are enjoying a budget holiday on nearby Wreckers Island.
Oxford undergraduates Emma, Louise, Dan and John are staying in the island’s disused lighthouse owned by Louise’s parents. They explore the cellar – untouched for decades – and stumble across a diary which could lead them on the trail of what remains of the treasure . . . and also into the path of danger. A chain of events is unleashed which threatens to scupper their bright futures and put them on the wrong side of the law. Meanwhile, a growing tenderness between Dan and Emma flourishes into a passionate romance. But their relationship is also under threat.
