Overview: Aya DeAniege wrote for years, first to please herself then writing stories for free—believing no one would ever pay to read her stuff—before pursuing indie publishing. She still writes mainly for personal pleasure, with topics ranging from romance, fantasy, science fiction, on to whatever takes her fancy in the future.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
1. At Death’s Door – Vampires. They come out to the public, claiming that they can’t keep up with technology any longer. Unable to stay hidden, they chose to take matters into their own hands. Upon coming out, they agree to forty interviews between vampires and carefully selected interviewees.
Helen goes in expecting some fluffy, guilt-laden story filled with woe-is-me moments and a conflicted conscience about eating mortals. She expected some well-researched history with bad acting because she wasn’t expecting an actual vampire.
Within moments of meeting Quintillus, her illusions are shattered. He’s not conflicted, and his story is riddled with holes. But he takes her on a night-long adventure that is more than she bargained for.
2. Cheating Death – Coffee and blood. The start to Helen’s second night with Quin and she thinks she knows what to expect.
The night before, the deaths of three vampires shocked the world of immortals. It’s been four hundred years since the last vampiric death. Four hundred years since Wraith and Death’s little spat, and it seems the pair are destined to butt heads once more, with Helen’s city their battlegrounds.
The two vampires have been preparing for this for centuries, making their plans and readying their bodies and minds. They aren’t the only ones who have been preparing, however.
From the shadows, she has been watching the events unfold. Biding her time, the Great Maker has witnessed it all, and she knows what’s about to happen. She’s been a silent witness to the Council’s choices, decisions, and laws. She’d just like them all to know that she’s pissed with them, and she’s just as dangerous as the last time she walked the lands.
