Overview: When twenty-six-year-old Tic Rider was a boy, his archaeologist parents went searching for a secret polar opening to planet Earth. Their ship wrecked, but the bodies were never recovered.
Tic’s conspiracy-nut roommate, Ray, tries to convince him the government is watching Tic’s every move, because Tic’s family once held in their possession a Jansen necklace — an ancient artifact of unknown origin and supposed proof of hollow earth. Tic isn’t so sure, but wants to make the journey north to see if there is a polar opening to inner earth and settle the mystery of his parents’ disappearance.
As he makes preparations, a mysterious light appears outside his apartment and knocks him to the ground. When Tic wakes up he finds a Jansen necklace placed on his coffee table — the same necklace his parents took with them on their journey to inner earth.
A girl from campus shows up the same night looking for comfort, but Ray isn’t sure Tic should trust her. Soon Tic discovers that not only is the US government after him, but other secret enemies as well.
Tic must race for hollow earth to escape the organizations that want to keep it a secret, but his journey turns into an unexpected discovery of an ancient power, a power strong enough to either change the course of humanity, or destroy it.
Tic has to decide whether to help the keepers of secrets, or go against those he should be able to trust.
