I guess I always wanted to be the lead singer in a band. Not being able to sing put paid to that idea. So my fallback position was in acting, but that didn’t work out either. So I decided that if I couldn’t be the girl that people wrote about, I’d be the one doing the writing.

1. So It Begins – Dark Magic had come back to my hometown, my friend’s werewolf gene had been triggered, which was a surprise to all of us, a vampire that looked as if he belonged in a boy-band had come home, and witches were dying.
Lucky me, my witch clan was the hierarchy on the Ise of Skye, and all roads led back to us. That sex-on-a-stick Detective Jack Mackie was making my life hell, and I had a Bistro to run.
Solve the problem, keep the Detective at arm’s length, bake perfect cookies, give the tourists what they wanted, and don’t get killed. When was I going to find the time to have a life?
2. Reap what You Sow – Jack was gone, and I was fine, so why did my family feel the need to cheer me up? Even Moira was being nice to me, and that was surreal.
Life was normal again. Well, not exactly normal, we did have bat-boy the vampire and split-personality the werewolf that we’d practically adopted as pets, but nobody was dying – and then they were.
So, Jack was back; I was cooking up a storm in between trying not to get myself or anyone else killed, that old dark magic was rumbling in the veins of the Earth beneath us, and I was still managing to find the time to play charades with the tourists. I think I need a holiday, but would I survive life on Skye to have one?
3. Love Lies Bleeding – Could life ever really return to normal? Bat-boy and Split-Personality were dating my sisters, Malachi was, well, Malachi, and Jack was definitely gone for good this time, and then he came back. Why? Because some idiot murdered another idiot and he was sent to investigate. Lucky me.There was a new witch in town, Ross was in trouble with Lachlan’s pack, and that old dark magic was bubbling away like Gran’s cauldron on steroids. What’s a witch to do? Bake some cookies, solve a murder, save some lives, oh, and save Skye from imploding, exploding, or whatever was going to go wrong this time. Would we all survive? Sometimes you just need to bend over and kiss your backside goodbye – this wasn’t one of those times.
