Silas and Mata take their relationship to something deeper while in Faralag, and they decide to return to Amenozume together after Silas finishes his work in Faralag. They go to protect and rescue Mata’s sister, Jade, trapped in the palace as Ivaric assumes control of the levers of power on the island.
But the journey to Amenozume will prove challenging, the rescue will be dangerous, and emotions and relationships may prove to be less secure than they seem.

Silas’s battle to free his continent from the double tyranny of Ivaric’s invasion and L’Anvien’s cruel worship continues. His growing use of his powers is dampened by his own emotional turmoil as he struggles with his feelings for both Mata and Lumene. To end the conflict in his soul, he may have to make a desperate move that puts his life and his love at risk.
