Overview: In 1923, almost no one has heard of a former corporal in the German Army named Adolf Hitler, but he is about to thrust himself and his political movement to the forefront. Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch fails to overthrough the Weimar government in Germany, and his treason lands him in prison. Despite his failure, his fame grows, and the shadow of treason points to a dark time ahead for Germany and, possibly, for the world.
Sir Arthur Dukes wants to stop Hitler before he can do more mischief. He pays a visit to Wedding Island to propose that Will Danger and The Family take action now. Dukes, a member of the British intelligence community and a ranking member of the British Admiralty, suggests to Danger that it might be time for him to do something about Hitler before the firebrand politician becomes a problem. His suggestion that Danger and his group assassinate the fledling German leader is not well received on Wedding Island.
Though in prison, Hitler learns of Sir Arthur’s visit to Danger and, using such influence as he has, manages to launch an attack on Danger and his people aimed at killing Sir Arthur and taking out a principal opponent in the hated British Empire.
The attack hits The Family hard, so hard it very nearly puts them out of the fight permanently. Will Danger is presented with a situation that, if left unchecked, could do far more than simply threaten his island and his family. Now is the time to act. Will Danger’s next step will send tremors throughout Europe and into the Americas.
