Book #1 – Spangled to Death
Spangled to Death is a completed cozy mystery. My character, Liv Anderson, owns the White House Dollhouse store in Minneapolis, and has a doctorate in American history, specializing in the First Ladies. A department store owner from New York City stops at Liv’s store to purchase dollhouses for further retail. Liv finds her dead the following morning in her store. Before her death, she asks Liv about the ‘family secret’. What is the ‘family secret’? Liv searches family records, letters, and photos, and finds that clues surround her, and realizes that she’s searching for the Star Spangled Banner manuscript. Liv stands between the manuscript and the killer, who will find it first?

Book #2 – Word to Death
The murder of a Mary Todd Lincoln impersonator, Blanche, is found dead near Liv’s first ladies/the White House dollhouse store. The mystery is like a cozy murder mystery combined with the National Treasure movies. There are two mysteries to solve, one being the murder and the other is locating the Lost Speech.
Lincoln’s "Lost Speech" was a speech given by Abraham Lincoln at the Bloomington Convention on May 29, 1856, in Bloomington, Illinois. Traditionally regarded as lost because it was so engaging that reporters neglected to take notes, the speech is believed to have been an impassioned condemnation of slavery.

Book #3 – Clued to Death
Olivia Reynolds, owner and operator of the White House Dollhouse Store in Minneapolis, attends a National Park expo at the Xcel Energy Center as a vendor and as a fan. Liv leaves her employee, Gina, at the First Lady Dollhouse booth while she attends the opening ceremonies. Gina drinks a beverage meant for Liv and dies. Liv is beside herself. Someone has murdered her friend and employee and now it’s up to her to figure things out. Enter an old land title, which may or may not have belonged to Teddy Roosevelt, a couple of assaults, a deranged murderer, and suddenly Liv has her hands full. Entertaining, informative, and always fascinating. Schlichting delivers another Teddy bear hug of a mystery!

Book #4 – Suffragette to Death
Liv owns and operates the White House Dollhouse store in downtown Minneapolis. It’s located in one of the oldest sections of town and is right across the Hennepin Avenue bridge. The streets are still cobblestone. The infamous Stone Arch Bridge is also nearby which had once been means to travel over St. Anthony Falls for the railroad magnate, James J. Hill. It’s location is near the Mill City Museum where the famous Pillsbury flour and Gold Metal flour was produced.
Liv has one employee, Max. She has a husband who is a policeman, Aaron Reynolds. She is also a first lady aficionado.
