1. Whiskey on the Rocks (2005)
Still reeling from her husband’s death, 33-year-old real estate broker Whiskey Mattimoe is adjusting to a new life, which includes the embarrassing purse-snatching antics of her mischievious Afghan hound. That’s bad for business, but not as bad as having clients die on the premises.

When one of her properties turns into a murder scene, Whiskey becomes hopelessly tangled in a devious scheme involving identity fraud and priceless art. Dodging a house fire, break-ins, and attempts on her life, Whiskey manages to keep her sense of humor throughout the chaos with help from a part-time police force, her 8-year-old neighbor, and other eccentric characters in the Lake Michigan resort town of Magnet Springs.

2. Whiskey Straight Up (2006)
It’s time for Magnet Springs’ annual ice fishing jamboree, but there’s something sinister afoot. Things begin going south as soon as Roy Vickers hits town. Not only did he try to kill Whiskey’s husband, Leo, nine years ago, but it now looks like Roy might have killed Magnet Springs’ missing self-aggrandizing mayor, Gil Gruen, Whiskey’s realtor nemesis.

Then Chester, Abra and Prince Harry, Abra’s puppy, are kidnapped, and newly deputized Whiskey, hot on their trail, finds herself up to her neck in the freezing waters of Lake Michigan after finding Gil’s corpse in a deserted ice shanty.

Add in an ex-husband who shows up at all the wrong times trying to rekindle the sparks between them, the sexy, tempting father of her step-daughter’s twins, and the perverted male nurse impostor, and Whiskey’s life takes more twists and turns than a French braid.

3. Whiskey and Tonic (2007)
Dealing with the first anniversary of her husband’s death would be much easier for Whiskey Mattimoe if the newly-crowned Miss Blossom wasn’t scheduled to die on the very same day. It seems everybody in Magnet Springs knew about the not-so-secret curse of the Miss Blossom pageant except for Whiskey–full-time real estate agent, part-time sleuth, long-suffering owner of Abra, her willful and sometimes felonious Afghan hound, and reluctant guardian for the soon-to-be-deceased Miss Blossom.

Any hope that Abra has reformed her purse-snatching ways is dashed when the dog disappears with the emerald-laden Miss Blossom tiara, a priceless—albeit horrendously ugly and gawdy—heirloom insured for more than Whiskey’s net worth. Suddenly Whiskey finds herself tangled in a web of deceit and murder that spans centuries and involves her dearly departed husband, for better or worse.

When the new Miss Blossom lands in the hospital and the former Miss Blossom turns up dead, Whiskey’s got to catch a cold-blooded killer before another generation of Magnet Springs’ royalty succumbs to a fate worse than wearing the Miss Blossom tiara.

4. Whiskey and Water (2008)
Magnet Springs is in a frenzy over multiple sightings of dead mayor Gil Gruen and the self-induced exile of their resident Seven Suns of Solace adviser, Noonan Starr, just when she’s needed most. While opportunity knocks at Whiskey’s door in the form of a sexy Scotsman with real estate agent potential, a charming karma-obsessed self-help author with dating potential, and Whiskey’s ex-husband, who possesses the potential to drive her out of her mind, mayhem abounds.

When one of Whiskey’s tenants is found murdered on the shores of Lake Michigan and the children in the young woman’s charge disappear, it’s up to canine-challenged Whiskey to rescue Magnet Springs from a scandal unlike any other it’s ever known. Can Whiskey help the town discover the truth about Twyla Rendel’s death and lay Gil Gruen to rest for good before it’s too late?

5. Whiskey with a Twist (2009)
Whiskey Mattimoe proves that even bad examples need love—and a bullet-proof vest—too. Although the recession has chilled the tourist trade in Magnet Springs, Whiskey and Jeb are heating up. Before Whiskey can ruin their on-again romance with self-doubt, Odette lands a huge real estate contract with a wealthy, but philandering, developer. However, to sweeten the deal, Whiskey and Abra must attend the Midwest Afghan Hound Show; not as handler and prize-winning Afghan, but as examples of Worst in Show.

Things go well until the shooting starts, and before it’s over, cars and bodies are riddled with bullet holes. To make matters worse, Abra runs off with the prize-winning pooch, and Whiskey comes down with weird flu-like symptoms while unsuccessfully dodging bullets in Amish country. Will Whiskey survive her foray into the world of dog shows, or will the killer make sure she never sees Magnet Springs again?

6. Whiskey and Soda (2012)
It’s Christmas time in Magnet Springs, but nobody feels merry. The weather is unseasonably warm, tourism is at a record low, and Abra has run away again. Six months pregnant, Whiskey Mattimoe worries about her lack of maternal instinct. If she can’t handle an Afghan hound, how can she raise a child?

When 8-year-old neighbor Chester asks for help warning his private school headmaster that trouble is brewing in the PTO, Whiskey has no idea she’s about to witness a grisly murder.

Then Jeb arrives with an engagement ring—and a rescued French bulldog who thinks she’s a femme fatale. Arrows fly, and they don’t come from Cupid. Whiskey and Abra find themselves on the same side in a battle where the enemy is hard to target.

7. Whiskey, Large (2014)
Nine months pregnant, real estate broker Whiskey Mattimoe is literally living large. She needs a driver now and a nanny very soon. What she doesn’t need is another murder to solve.

Magnet Springs is re-branding itself as a pet-friendly vacation destination, but the transition is bumpy. Someone is shooting at unleashed dogs, including Whiskey’s own escape artist, Abra. The shooter could be a disgruntled resident, a crazed tourist, or someone closer to home.

Then two humans die in an explosion, and even though she’s on maternity leave, Whiskey finds herself in the middle of the investigation. Is it an accident or murder? And who’s going to drive Whiskey to the hospital when her water breaks?
