Overview: I am a British author in my thirties and the War of Contractia is my first publication. Like many self-publishers I have a day job, and I work with computers in that job. I generally write at the same time as cycling… on my exercise bike. I don’t recommend writing and cycling on the road though!
I grew up reading the works of Tolkien among others in the realms of fantasy and sci-fi. As I was reading, when I put the book down, I would often think of other ways the stories could go. I still do! I used to enjoy writing stories when I was at school, but back then self-publishing wasn’t anywhere near as practical as it is now and my stories probably weren’t good enough either.
I started writing again last year just for fun. I’m a perfectionist, so I figured my books wouldn’t be good enough to publish. I didn’t want to publish something that wasn’t good enough, but to my surprise the first book in this series seemed pretty good. Then I wrote the second book and that also seemed good enough, so I figured… why not give it a shot at publishing? Thanks to Amazon Kindle Store it is remarkably easy to do.

2. Peter and the Elven Songs
This story is mostly told from the perspective of Peter as he begins Year 2 at the (magic) Academy of Contractia. As the cast expands though, you will walk into the lives of some of his friends, both new and old. His goals are ambitious and he cannot achieve them alone but, both for his own sake and for the sake of his friends, failure is not an option. You will meet powerful and sometimes truly evil new enemies. Should he be more concerned about an old foe though?
3. Peter and the Kuroneko
Peter must defeat the most devious of foes to protect his friends, but he cannot do so alone. He will need to rely on a small group of comrades and on the advice of an ally with far more experience than he has. His own talent and power will however still prove vital.
Yu Kii, the former miko (shrine maiden) of the Kuroneko has adjusted to her life in Contractia, but those she left behind must continue their duties. Meanwhile Yu Kii and her classmates will go much further afield than just the academy. As she does so you will learn more about both Yu Kii and Contractia itself.
