The Watern House Healers are the best in the Imperium, at least that is what everyone in Corda’s family tells her. The girl’s entire life, she has known that loyalty to their House is paramount, and focus on the family’s welfare is required. Obedient and loving, Corda would do anything to avoid disappointing them.
For the slender child, her 10th birthday is a significant milestone, one that she has been anticipating for a long time. Not only will she get to see her beloved grandmother after years of absence, but it marks a change in the type of lessons she will get.
Soon, Corda will be able to begin learning some of the basic uses of Healing Magic as she prepares for her preordained attendance at the Imperial Academy. If only surviving her birthday was not so complicated.
