Overview: George S. Mahaffey Jr. is a lawyer, screenwriter, and author. His script Heatseekers was bought by Paramount Pictures with Michael Bay producing and Timur Bekmambetov attached to direct. In addition, he’s sold or written scripts for Arnold Kopelson, Jason Blum, Benderspink, director Louis Leterrier, and is the creator of In The Dust, an action-horror graphic novel in the vein of 30 Days of Night to be published by Top Cow with art by Christian Duce. He has also written the first two books of the Blood Runners Trilogy, and is the author of the horror novellas Amityville: Origins, Amityville: Revenants, Razorbacks, Razorbacks II, Razorbacks III, The Pact, The Devil’s Ark, Familiars, the Vertical City zombie series, and the action series Thunder Road.

Book 2
VERTICAL CITY, PART 2, picks up as Wyatt, a high-stakes skyscraper salvager, has a clandestine meeting with the underground leader of the Vertical City’s outer buildings only to be sent out on a dangerous, long-range patrol into the land of the dead that will change everything.
Book 3
VERTICAL CITY, PART 3, continues the non-stop action of the first two books. Our hero Wyatt barely survives a controlled building explosion only to find himself marooned atop another structure, surrounded by tens of thousands of zombies. He’s saved by Brixton, an elite member of his community’s search and rescue squad, who swings onto the building to lead Wyatt on a harrowing journey through canyons of concrete and steel. Once safely inside the Vertical City, Wyatt’s treated like a hero for bringing down the building and killing thousands of zombies. But even as he’s treated like a rock-star, Wyatt questions the plans of the Vertical City’s leaders to wage a new war against the armies of the dead. As his involvement with the new operation grows, Wyatt’s old friend Gus confronts and pressures him into sneaking out into the city at night to investigate evidence of a possible conspiracy that threatens to undermine everything both of them believe in.
Book 4
In the explosive conclusion to the series, Wyatt and the heroes of books 1 through 3 are caught and trapped inside a skyscraper after they learn the terrifying truth behind The Vertical City. Struggling to find a way out, they’re forced to scale down the side of the building and take shelter in the infected sections of the city, avoiding hundreds of thousands of hungry dead as they plot to bring down the men who are responsible for murdering their friends and families.
