1. Hannah Hobbes and The Two Dimensional Love: The pets of the future are hybrid animatronic animals called artifissels, and the only thing that Vech Hannah Hobbes is good at is fixing them, and doing detective work, and concocting inventions…okay, admittedly, she’s good at many things, but she feels that she is only good at being a Vech, a doctor of sorts for artifissels.
She’s certainly not good at falling in love. But a serendipitous collision on an early morning walk in the park might change that. Soon after the weird and fateful encounter, Hannah’s life splits in two, like diverging circuits on a computer chip, or different tracks on a rock album (her favorite music).
On one track, she is recruited to investigate a double murder that somehow involves artifissels.
On another track, she meets a handsome scientist and begins to fall in love.
But a person can’t live two lives at once without cognizance of the opposing life, can they? Because neither Hannah is aware of the other life.
As the two tracks threaten to collide, Hannah must sort the case as if her—and everyone else’s—existence depends on it.
2. Hannah Hobbes and The Curse of the White Lion: Hannah Hobbes, artifissel physician, inventor, and part-time Vech detective, is back to investigate another case involving the pets of the future.
To increase income to keep her new Vech clinic afloat, Hannah passes the exams for certification to work on White Lions, the support artifissels issued by the government as a benefit to the disabled.
Just as Hannah begins taking patients, an infection surfaces in the city’s population of White Lions, and Detective Briar, head of the FCPD Artifissel Division, again calls on Hannah’s artifissel expertise to help solve a case.
This time she’ll investigate with the help of her new secret creation, a Pix, an artifissel insect species, smaller than legal, but able to get to places unreachable by a tall human like Hannah. And the sneaky little bug can pick locks.
As the artifissel infection spreads and threatens to plague the whole of Four Corners City, Hannah must identify and eliminate whatever, or whoever, is causing it.
