Overview: An ailing king on the small island of Norteras besieged by threats must fight to save not only the land he loves, but also himself and his legacy, from destruction at the hands of his cruel son. As the king begins a purge, seeing enemies in every shadow, the last of the golds grows weary of the constant threat of raids from the monsters hiding by the alpine passes, emerging irregularly to terrorize the villages. Teaming up with a raven and a crude foreigner, the dragon must fight as a human to save his family.
Will the king save Norteras? Will the king become the tyrant he believed his son to be? Will the dragon save his family, or be discovered by the powerful forces moving against it under cover of darkness?
