What is the minimum hardware requirement for Video Enhance AI?
We suggest running Video Enhance AI on high-end Nvidia graphics cards. The minimum requirement is GTX 1050 with 4 GB of VRAM. Any graphics card later/better than GTX 1080 (included) will do the job pretty quickly. If you don’t have an Nvidia graphics card in your device, the software can run on your Intel iGPU. Normally, it will be 5 times slower. If you don’t have an Intel iGPU, the software will eventually revert to your CPU, which can be 10 times slower than the Nvidia GPU version.

We built Topaz Video AI v3 from the ground up to include new features such as video stabilization, upscaling capabilities, and a better user experience. Using this new codebase allows us to provide some of your most requested features, such as:

We originally built Video Enhance AI to improve the most common quality issues that plague video, including image de-interlacing, smart upscaling up to 8K, and unreliable frame rate conversion. Because it treats video as a series of constant-rate images, it led to issues when the app’s AI models had to process variable-frame-rate images, frame repeats, and scene changes.

It also complicated our ability to develop new models to address stabilization or scene detection because they require multiple passes over the video.

To build on these new features and continue to innovate, we built the next generation of this application on top of a completely new code base and a new user interface with numerous functionality enhancements, such as stacking multiple AI models, running parallel tasks, and filter the project queue.

The new features included with Topaz Video AI v3 can be broken down into two categories:
Usability improvements
New AI models

You can now enable more than one AI model in a single task, allowing for a more flexible workflow. For example, you can now upscale it to 4K resolution while allowing for stabilization and grain addition.

Users can now run multiple tasks simultaneously, allowing for a more efficient workflow. You can run different previews of multiple input video files with different settings and export multiple projects simultaneously.

You can also use the new filter options to display process jobs for the selected video file or all uploaded video files and filter using output preview tasks, export tasks, or both.
Major performance and stability improvements

Topaz Video AI v3 also includes many new performance and stability improvements, such as:
Support for cross-platform hardware encoding for H264, H265, and AV1 (where available), along with higher-bit output formats like ProRes 444.

You can expect significantly faster exports and previews from Topaz Video AI v3.1. The exact acceleration depends on your hardware, video and AI models used, but internal testing has recorded a consistent 50-100% performance improvement on most configurations.

Internally, we have parallelized the processing pipeline to improve hardware efficiency. We have not scaled down or optimized the AI models themselves, so model quality should remain identical to previous versions.

Chronos, Chronos Fast, and Full-frame Stabilization now also use TensorRT, further increasing render speeds by up to 3x (and up to 6x compared to the latest version 3.0.x) on NVIDIA machines.

Played faster in the app

The in-app video player will now play videos up to 3x faster as we have improved the efficiency of frame rendering. While playback may still not be real time for large videos, it has improved significantly over v3.0.x and will improve further in the future.
