Threshold (Endurance, Texas) by Emma Black
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.2 MB
Overview: As my Southern Baptist granddaddy would say, “If this one don’t light your fire, your wood’s wet.” I don’t think this is the kind of fire he was talking about, but it still tracks.
Endurance, Texas is just a blip on the map, and the two main things we endure here are unbearable heat and societal pressure. There are six of us, and while we don’t have a coffeeshop in Greenwich, we do have a pool house on the lake. None of us would have survived high school without each other, and now that we’re on the threshold of adulthood, it’s all getting very, very real.
And when the things we’ve always thought were dividing forces turn into the very things that bring us closer together, we learn what Endurance truly is: home.
