Meet Lucas. Second name Ramses, like the Egyptian king. Lucas is no king though. Tried to be once, but it didn’t work out. Only place it got him to was Hell after losing his soul. Now he is a fugitive, on the run from Hell and being chased by a demon who has been carrying a grudge for the last two hundred years.
Despite being a powerful enough demon himself, Lucas knows he can’t stay on the run forever. So when he hears of a certain artifact – one he thought didn’t even exist on Earth – turning up in a city that is on the verge of collapse thanks to the supernatural evil corrupting it, Lucas finally sees a way to end the running and put his past to rest once and for all. Helping him do that is a demon hunter named Frank, a stripper named Janice and a Russian-accented demon called Dimitri. But everything is against Lucas, not only his enemies from Hell who are only ever one step behind him, but also the city itself as it threatens to become the new Hell thanks to the evil machinations of a cabal of demons, angels and Nephilim.
The past has caught up with Lucas Ramses, and if he doesn’t manage to bury it, it will bury him in the worst pits of Hell for eternity.
2) Hell Is Here – When I sold my soul, I knew it would only be a matter of time before the demon came to collect…
Six months down the line, the demon who owns my soul has come calling. Not only does the demon want to drag me to Hell, it wants me to undertake a dangerous and impossible mission while I’m there, in exchange for getting my soul back.
With no choice but to take on the mission, I soon find myself thrust into the terrifyingly insane world of Hell, where it will take every ounce of my strength and hard won guile to survive the unspeakable horrors I must face in that infernal place. And as if that wasn’t enough, I have to try and locate my mother, who is still trapped in a world of damned souls, eternal punishment, crazy Hellion’s and dangerous demon politics.
To survive it all and rescue my mother, I must play the damnation game to win, the only people helping me a little girl born in the fiery pits of Hell itself, and a stranger I meet along the way who may or may not be a treachourous toad.
Hell is here for me, and I must do more than just survive to get my precious soul back.
3) Hell and Back – After being captured in Hell by my own mother—who works for the king of Hell—I am finally released from my nightmarish prison in the dreaded Depths, the deepest, darkest part of Hell.
Soon after though, I end up working for the king (tell me about it) and it isn’t long before I discover that Hell is vastly more twisted and complicated than I first thought. That’s especially true when you have to work alongside your own mother as an enforcer and intelligence gatherer…for your father!
I’m left walking a dangerous line between being a loyal servant to the king, and continuing to plot my escape from Hell. Oh, and along the way, I have to try and convince my reluctant and damaged mother to help me get out of Hell, plus reign in my inner demon who wants to take control of me.
In short, I’m on my most dangerous and complicated mission yet. If I fail, nothing less than eternal suffering awaits me in the depths of Hell.
4) Hell to Pay – Having escaped from Hell, I’m back in my own world again, with Alice in tow, who is no longer the same little girl I rescued from Hell. She’s something completely different. She also has supernatural powers of the infernal variety. The question is, what is she going to do with those powers? And which side, if any, is she on?
I also arrive back to find that my brother, Josh, has succumbed to whatever form of darkness is within him, helped along by Deacon, a demon with a murderous grudge against humanity. Together they have built a criminal empire to carry out an evil plan that threatens the very existence of the city. I might not be able to kill my brother, but as for Deacon…I’ll happily hold the elevator to Hell for him.
Finally, there’s Lucas. Remember him? It’s decision time. Do I give myself to him completely, or do I walk away out of fear and lose the only true love I’ve ever felt?
