The Ux-Blood Trilogy + Novella by Charles Brass (Books #1-3, + Novella)
Requirements: ePUB Reader, 1.45 mb
Overview: Charles Brass is the pen name of a middle-ager who believes in the maxim "Write what you want to read!" He enjoys science-fiction above all other genres, and action-adventure tales most within the genre- though space opera and epic tales come a close second. He’s not into convoluted explanations of technology or how things work- hey, it’s science-fiction! Have fun with it!
Charles served six years in the US Navy right out of high school, where he earned his education and training as a Radiologic Technologist (x-ray tech), and served in Bahrain during the first Gulf War (remember that one?). After leaving the service, he worked as a word processor for a few years (where he learned the joy that is WordPerfect!) before returning full-time to Radiology.
In the decades since, he has obtained his credentials in CT and MRI, and currently works in a small city west of the Minneapolis, as the night-shift CT/MRI technologist for a local stand-alone emergency center. With a new Bachelor’s degree in animation under his belt, his business idea will soon claim a majority of his waking hours. But rest assured, he will find the time to keep writing now that the Muse has struck- even if it means his patients in the ED have to wait a moment or two… ha!

Witchblood (The Ux-Blood Trilogy #2)
Miles knows he is not human, but he cannot remember who or what he is, where he’s from, or who put the odd metallic gauntlets on his arms. With clear memories limited to the last five years, he knows only who his human friends are and that it is his duty to protect them. On an Earth devastated by the Collapse, Miles works as one of several mules on a wagon convoy. When the convoy travels through a forest alive with deadly man-eating tree spiders, the trek becomes an utter disaster. Miles escapes certain death when two amazing truths break free from his chained memories-the strange gauntlets on his arms respond to his thoughts, and he has an innate ability to fly. Now, Miles travels an exhilarating, dangerous journey of self-rediscovery amid new allies and enemies also not of Earth. As time winds down to a deadline that could mean the end of all life on the planet he knows as home, he must make the right choice between friends who might be foes, foes who might be friends, or lose forever the memories he has finally regained after eighty-five years of darkness.
Witch Warden (The Ux-Blood Trilogy #3)
In this final book of the Ux-Blood Trilogy, Warden Maels Raptori faces his greatest foe yet!
The Guild Guard serves the Witches Guild by protecting its sisters and crushing witchblood harvests perpetrated by the Nassara, who use the stolen blood to make themselves a greater threat. After decades of war, the Nassara finally appears to be in full retreat, and the commanders of the three overworld armies urge Warden Maels Raptori, leader of the Guild Guard, to avoid the risk of going out on missions.
So Maels decides a simple intelligence-gathering operation to a planet beneath the Handresi overworld will be his last.
But when the mission takes an unexpected turn and Maels stumbles onto the path of a third party involved in the war, with plans to smash both sides and claim the strands as its own, the overweb’s last Raptori knows he cannot simply stand aside. For one overworld is about to fall, and unless Warden Maels and his Guard act quickly, all lives within the remaining strands may fall prey to a spell so powerful the only way to defend against it is to shatter the overweb, leaving countless worlds in isolated chaos.
A Child of Byne: An Ux-Blood Novella

Now, on a mission for his new organization, the Guild Guard, he journeys to a primitive underworld called Byne. There, he discovers his simplistic mission of escorting a young girl, the winner of recent elections in her homeland, from her academy on the far side of the continent to the capital city is far more than it seems.
For to succeed, he must make sure the newly elected executive-elect never arrives-ever. But failure means being trapped on the underworld for the rest of his natural days. Now, he has only weeks to decide if she lives or dies, and the fate of a burgeoning civilization rests on his shoulders.
