The Thousand Words Series by Tori Brooks (#1-2)
Requirements: ePUB Reader, 488 kB
Overview: Tori returned to writing and finished her first novel. She wrote a third of that novel on her smartphone during lunches and breaks at work. It took a while before Tori considered her writing to be anything more than a hobby, but by then she had finished a few books. Writing taught her to appreciate the mischief her teenagers stir up, that the characters in her head fight back, and that she misses Seattle. Life is still teaching her that her children will grow out of it, and she can visit Seattle occasionally. She’s still looking for a solution on how to deal with her characters. Maybe she should stop fighting them; these are their stories after all.
Genre: Romance, New Adult
1. Transitions: Dev feels like he’s lost everything. He’s learning to stand on his own, and at least he has his girlfriend and friends beside him. Except he doesn’t. Lindsay has plans that Dev just isn’t ready for yet, and his friends do nothing but point out how wrong she is for him. Standing by his girlfriend is tearing the band apart, as is his decision to leave his troubles behind and move across the country to go to college. He’ll make new friends, put Lindsay’s troubling plans on hold, and take some time to figure out if he’s a rock star, a hacker, or both.
2. In Her Sights: All Kenny ever wanted was to be a rock star, it was his destiny. To the world, it seems as if his dream has come true: A Thousand Words is music sensation with international success. Yet behind the scenes Dev is falling apart and Jess is struggling with forbidden desired. Bryan helps keep the peace in their tight circle, but Kenny’s concerned. While he works to maintain control of his faltering band, Jess shows him something else that needs his help. Someone else. Paige doesn’t need Kenny’s help, she can handle things herself. Usually. It’s just this time she’s in more trouble than she initially realized – a controversial problem that she needs to keep quiet. Kenny would be a nice backup plan in case everything goes sideways on her, and Paige decides maybe he’s worth keeping. His little friends are a problem, but she can handle them. Kenny studies psychology to keep Jess and Dev in hand, and Bryan manipulates all three from the sidelines with quiet reason. It’s so cute. If the boys pay close attention, Paige will show them how it’s done.
