Overview: A mysterious disease tears through the Turned, causing them to lose control and behave like rabid beasts. As such, Horus has been recalled to the city and has brought his wards Sophie and Matthias with him, much to Rowan’s dismay. As Sophie’s lover and Matthias’ Mentor, he wants nothing more than to see them far out of the city and beyond the reach of the virus.
Sophie is caught between Rowan’s distant behavior, fear of contracting a disease with no known cure, and a deranged stranger with a rabbit mask. The virus had to come from somewhere – or someone. If they can’t find out who soon, the Turned will slaughter each other in the streets.
