"It’s Gerald. He’s dead."
The police suspect Sara’s bakery to be a possible source of a food-related "murder weapon." Again.

3. Influenced To Death – What Happens When Everyone Thinks You’re a Murderer?
When a local town man is suddenly murdered, Sara, a bakery owner and amateur sleuth, finds herself involved in trying to figure out the murderer and motive again. Meanwhile Sara feels conflicted when her boyfriend gets a new job with the FBI and asks her to move away from town with him.
This time Sara may not be ready for what’s coming.
“Some minutes after nine in the morning, Cindy comes in, and this time I notice that Kyle just drops her off and drives away.
“Busy day at work for Kyle?” I say, trying to make conversation as I ring up her order.
The smile on her face is strained. “You haven’t heard? Our little town can’t just catch a break. There’s been another murder.”
It takes a long moment for the news to settle. I sigh. “That’s awful.” And it is awful, but it’s also the third time in less than a year in a town where the most serious crime used to be creative vandalism. It’s not so shocking anymore.
I am a little worried about Cindy’s news, though. I hope it isn’t a local or somebody I knew and liked.
“Is it anybody we know?” I ask Cindy.”
