The Sub S1E1: Moving Day
Ethen is a young teacher who roams school to school as a sub, never connecting, and not particularly wanting to, either. He’s new to town, needing to come to look after his parents. But living with them is killing him.
Dakota, Alana, Laila, and Tatum are four young single teachers at the school he is sent to one day. And they all live together in a tall, old house cut up into five separate apartments. And the apartment at the top of the house just happens to be newly vacant . . .
Would he like to come over and look at it, Dakota asks him. I know you’d like it there, Tatum assures him.
Before he can get out of it, he was moved into it. And then they all went down to Dakota’s apartment to watch a show . . . . Ethen included.
The Sub S1E2: Fake boyfriend
Moved into the top of the house above the four young female teachers, Ethen begins to learn details about each of their lives. Alana, for example, dreads family dinners at home where they bug her about not having a boyfriend.
"Pretend Ethen’s your boyfriend!" Dakota suggested. "I’m sure he won’t mind!"
Unable to get out of it, he finds himself entangled in a web of lies Alana seems determined to spin just for fun. She makes it up to him after though, in the front of his pick-up truck at her favorite old parking place.
