Overview: So you took time out to read my bio. Pretty cool. I’m from Portsmouth, Oh. I practically lived half my life, feels that way, in the woods behind my house growing up. In the evenings I’d draw because that’s what my mom did. She was an artist. She loved to paint and was pretty good at it, but the art she did wasn’t paying our bills. So knowing that I went into technology when I joined the Army in 1991. Over the past decade, I’ve gotten back to what my mom loved to do – art. I love it too.

Sometimes, to make a good friend, you have to kill them first.
I’m Luc Stockhelm, and I need a break from whatever guys like me need a break from. The details don’t matter.
What matters is I had no idea that when I went out for a drink, I’d be picking up a demon, develop a craving to kill a woman, and taste a smooth bourbon. You’d understand if you smelled the bourbon or met the lady.
I might be a bad guy. I might not. Who’s to say either way, really?
What would you do when faced with a dead body in the snow and more questions than the police are equipped to handle?
Maybe I’d do what H.H. Holmes would do, or perhaps I’d chase down the woman who witnessed it all.
Snow-covered streets, bloody footprints, dead bodies, demons, a nosy neighbor, and a woman who’s only offense is attracting the wrong men are more tempting than I have the strength to deny right now.
Will I learn not to invite strangers to come and live with me? Even if they insist?

In Light of Death (#2)
Some say the dead don’t talk, but I know better.
I hear things in my bedroom, not that normal rattle of shutters from a brisk northern breeze or the pitter-patter of rain tapping on the windows.
As I lay in my bed, waiting on Alarbus. I knew he was there. He was always there.
This obnoxious ghost makes me lose my precious sleep. Oh, how I despise him.
I’m not giving up. No. I’ll get rid of this haunting specter if it kills me and kills him again.
But when I don’t know how to purge this ghost, I’m at the mercy of men who want to charge me a handsome fee to help free me of my demons. Money, I don’t have.
Well, where do you go when you need money fast? The same place everyone goes. The place on the outskirts of town where men beat each other to a pulp while greed-gripped spectators watch their hard-earned cash evaporate from the betting pit.
Sounds like a helluva night, doesn’t it?
It doesn’t stop there as I’m sent on a myriad of thankless tasks and stumble further into the dark underbelly of this town.
Signs of demonic presence and grisly deaths have awakened me to what is truly out there. And knowing that, I decide, I’m going to do something about it.
I’m going to hunt down who is behind these ritualistic murders and put a stop to them, but with only archaic tools to defend myself, I might end up being one of the victims.

In the Light of Another (#3)
I’m dead, you’re not.
My name is Lucius Samuel Stockhelm. I’m an inspectre, an occult detective. I work with a dear friend who happens to be dead. I work out of my home in New Cross, Ohio. As far as I know, I’m the only non-professional inspectre conducting supernatural investigations. You can find me in the Harken, just ask Toledo the barkeep. Believe it or not, I’m not even sure why I’m doing this kind of work.
It all starts with an innocent venture to find an appropriate gift for Miss Ella James. Of course, after I find this perfect, well, maybe an ideal gift, these unnatural events begin. I thought my world was getting better, only to find out things have yet again gotten worse. This time it’s hard to know how I came into this odd situation that’s left me in jail and accused of murder.
Turn on your gaslamp, but make sure it’s low so you don’t spook the
