Upon seeing a video of her flight taken by a crew member, he puts his own career at risk by asking MAC, the artificial intelligence machine that runs the Corps, to assess her skills and integrity as a potential SkyRyder. During her first day as a trainee, she’s almost killed by her misogynistic captain when he stalls her out three hundred feet above the ridge. The next day MAC calls her in for her flight test, even though her left knee has been severely injured. Senna arrives and astounds both the Flight tester and MAC with her cross-wind tacking to the door of Flight Test Center and her one-legged landing. MAC immediately upgrades her test to the captain’s test. Her flying skills are not just excellent; they exceed what was previously thought possible. After seeing her fly the test with her own modified equipment, MAC classifies her as its #1 asset. But she’s still a young woman in a male dominated Corps where her sense of right and wrong often clashes with her superiors.
Scavenger Falters (#2): Alisha Kane, the Corps’ best flyer, is promoted to colonel, in charge of teaching the Corp’s SkyRyders her extraordinary flying maneuvers. The man she loves, Logan, continues to place the Corps first and insists they both remain focused on their work. For Alisha, this means ferreting out the best flyers in a Corps that has systematically forced great flyers into mediocrity. Logan focuses on learning Alisha’s flying techniques so that he can become the hero the East Coast desperately needs. The result includes fractured ribs and broken hearts, but through it all they never relinquish their love of the Corps.
Scavenger Vanishes (#3): Stationed on opposite coasts, Alisha and Logan must each face their own demons and challenges. On the West Coast, Alisha loses her rank for butting heads with General Powell and soon discovers the life of a private can be utter hell. On the East Coast, newly promoted General Logan discovers his soldiers do not recognize his authority to command. In an effort to retake control of the East Coast Corps, Logan authorizes unthinkable actions. When Alisha faces a life-threatening crisis, will Logan rise above his own troubles, or will she discover love and rescue with her best friend Jack?
