With the wormhole drive humankind had spread across several star systems anchored by the Solar System and the Centauri System. But there was something that watched, waited and decided to prevent any further expansion.
The globes came in different sizes from small recorder globes of a couple of centimeters diameter up to ship sized globes many meters across. The appearance of the globes at first was a nuisance (Category 1) but after causing some deaths (Category 2) they became a threat.
The famous physicist Elias Mach and his great-great granddaughter, Emmy Gibbs, began investigating. The investigation led to Mach’s death. Destruction on Earth and in the space habitats of the Centauri System resulted. Disappearances of starships and even entire star systems followed.
Emmy desperately sought ways to prevent the worse; Category 6 – global, permanent extinction. Will she succeed?
