Eventually, the two become unlikely travel companions, passing through several territories dotted with orc and goblin bandits, called Greeners. Reimar learns that the elf is on a quest to find the mythical Shattered Sword, an item he believes to be just that: mythical.
Things become more complicated as they encounter several seers (or, as Reimar views them, crazy homeless bums) who speak of prophecies concerning the rise of the black and red dragons, who would come to destroy the land of the humans, dwarves, and elves.
As they go after the legendary weapon they will have to figure out how to work together, make it through a magically resetting forest, and even how to fight a red dragon!
