Overview: Paul Nixon, a promising young architect, travels to Derbyshire to work on the great estate of Pemberley.
There, he meets his client, the enigmatic Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy. Mr Darcy reveals the reason for his occasional spells of melancholy. He still pines for his lost love, a young woman to whom he made a disastrous proposal two years ago.
Darcy hopes the work on Pemberley will be completed before the birthday of his best friend, Charles Bingley. The celebrations will be held at Darcy’s estate and a great number of guests have been invited, including the clergyman Mr Collins and his wife, formerly Miss Elizabeth Bennet.
