      01 – The Mark of the Devil (2000)

        Rome the beautiful is dying, the symbol of civilization falling, the empire burning. Hidden from massacres and looting, a strange meeting is held by nine families who share the Roman Empire. To retain their power, they decide to support a new religion—Christianity—as well as its representative, the pope. But who are these 9 mysterious families?
        Later, much later, it’s the Renaissance. Christianity prospers. A brigand called “the Scorpion” makes a living by unearthing relics in the depths of the Roman catacombs, which he sells at high prices to princes and bishops. Trebaldi, a powerful cardinal, takes an interest in this Scorpion, who is either a creature of the devil… or a witness to a cursed era who must disappear.

      02 – The Pope’s Secret (2002)

        The Scorpion recovers from the poison, but only just. He decides to pay Cardinal Trebaldi’s house a visit, to figure out why a murderer was sent behind him. The documents he finds, produce only more questions. The only one that could answer those questions is the Pope. But at the same time the Pope’s assassination is being planned…

      03 – Peter’s Cross (2002)

        The Pope is dead, and that has a very personal meaning for the Scorpion. He knows Trebaldi is behind it, and he is determined to expose him and his plot. But he has to be fast, because it looks like Trebaldi’s election as the next Pope is unavoidable…

      04 – The Demon in the Vatican (2004)

        The Devil in the Vatican: Trebaldi claims that the sacred cross of St Peter miraculously appeared in his castle. The Scorpion must find the real cross if he is to prove Trebaldi’s treachery.
        Also contains
        The Stone Cross: The Scorpion, whose mother Cardinal Trebaldi burnt at the stake for loving a man of the cloth, discovers that his father was the murdered Pope himself. When Trebaldi addresses a huge crowd at the end of the mourning period, the Scorpion is there to tell the truth about how the Pope died.

      05 – The Sacred Valley (2004)

        A smart move by Mejaï helps them escape from the authorities of Istanbul – only to end up in the hands of Rochnan, who intends to end everything once and for all for the Scorpion. The distraction of a few bandits that smelled gold allow the Scorpion to escape, and now they hurry to Cappadocia to look for Saint Peter’s real cross. Easier said than done, as there are few clues and many possible locations – and someone else searching…

      06 – The Treasure of the Temple (2005)

        Together with Ferron and Ferrice The Scorpion and his group travel to Jerusalem, which seems to be the true location of Saint Peter’s cross. Rochnan has used other methods to reach the same conclusion, he’s on his way too. A rabbi brings the Scorpion the last clue he needs: the castle of Saint-Serrac – and a clue about the nature of the famous treasure of the Templars…

      07 – In the Name of the Father (2007)

        Pope Trebaldi has expanded his power in Rome. Fear is becoming his most important weapon when Mejaï, the Hussar and the Scorpion return to the city. Now that their previous mission failed the Scorpion has only one thing left that might be able to break the power of Trebaldi: he has to find out more about his own mother…

      08 – The Shadow of the Angel (2008)

        The moment for the last showdown between Cosimo Trebaldi and the Scorpion is almost near. But new characters like Nelio Trebaldi and Marie-Ange de Sarlat are trying to double cross the evil Pope and the Scorpion. Sooner or later they will learn that you cannot play with a scorpion without being stung.

      09 – The Mask of the Truth.

        The days of the usurper at the head of the Vatican seem to be numbered: since the Scorpion managed to steal the gold destined for the warrior monks, Trebaldi’s sinister mercenaries.But, in the Eternal City, rife with chaos, the secrets of the past seem even heavier. The weights of passion and betrayals are heavycenough to make the masks fall. Because the time total vengeance approaches like a mad horse, mortally dangerous, galloping through the streets of Rome.
