Overview: I’m a big fan of the ‘Men’s Fantasy’ genre. Stories about some ordinary guy finding himself in extraordinary circumstances, or just normal day to day living, that ends up attracting a couple or three or more beauties as the adventure goes along.
As is the way of things, the concept got stuck in my head. Characters swam into my mind’s eye. Some in ‘Isekai’ or ‘Taken to Another World’, some in other genres.

1. Runeology 101: Trail of the Lost Sister – Meet Tim Wilson, IT minion for a large Massively Multiplayer Online game company, unfortunately also among the recently divorced. On a day he’s supposed to have the kids, his ex-wife refuses for no other reason than it happens to be raining. Going over there to at least talk to her seems like a good idea.
A swarm of glowing eyed cat monsters show up out of nowhere and the bad day falls straight into much, much worse…
Tim wakes up on another world only for some crazy beauty with a Unicorn horn and hooves to literally fall into his lap. It doesn’t take more than five minutes to realize he’s in the clutches of a ‘Ms. Nuisance’. Echoes of his ex-wife add to his reluctance.
Regardless, she wheedles and cajoles, hoping to enlist his help finding her sister that some guy named Henry supposedly kidnapped. With no visible way back and only the equipment on his back granted him by some unknown goddess, he has no better options than helping out his new ‘Local Guide’. Naturally enough, the woman has no clue where her sister is.
If only she weren’t so beautiful.
And just about the time he gets used to her, another woman shows up out of the blue claiming this Henry guy kidnapped her sister too.
It’s going to be a long trip…
2. Runeology 102: Lost Cat Sister Blues – Since arriving on the world of Ocira, Timothy Wilson faced going from IT minion for an Online Game company to an Adventurer on another world. Not an easy thing any way you care to look at it. The transition from desk jockey to competent Tank for his new teammates is not an easy process either.
The need is dire, the time short, the training brutal.
For there be Demon Lords and Goblins and Orcs running amok on this world. All of which seem hellbent on abducting the kind Animalfolk he finds himself amongst. Naturally enough, the bad guys can’t be bothered to wait for him to get ready…
Joined by Fiona, a stunningly beautiful Unicornfolk woman and skilled Healer, and the recently met Talulah, a lithe Serval patterned Catfolk woman rediscovering her Air Magic, Tim races against time to save who can be saved.
Of course, Tim’s new teammates are still insisting that their big sisters were kidnapped by some guy named Henry which might be from Earth too. Tim swore to help the ladies find their sisters, no matter where that journey took them.
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the looks Fiona and Talulah give him as of late has Tim wanting to stop and smell the roses for just a moment…
3. Runeology: 103 Dragon Sister Lost – Wrapping up their investigation in Salina, Tim, Fiona, and Talulah head west on the trail of the Sister Thief. With Tim past his troubles left over from Earth, the trio find new joy in each other’s company along the way.
Unfortunately, their pleasant trip comes to a halt in Halfplain, a small Tribefolk town lost in the vastness of endless grasslands. The town is found completely empty and Nalin’s cart lays destroyed right beside the road leading to Arvada.
Even though Tim only met the Dragonkin once in Salina, he can not just walk way, leaving the guy and the other missing people in the clutches of whatever got them. Not after the horrors that befell the Animalfolk captured by Goblins from towns earlier in their journey.
The trio begins their search for Nalin and the missing townsfolk not a moment later.
Naturally, that’s about the time the Orcs spring their ambush…
The search for the Sister Thief stalls as Tim and his lovely teammates get diverted into a ‘Slight Detour’.
