Overview: I grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania about two miles from the Big House where Al Capone once stayed. Oddly enough, my trailer was right across from the behavioral studies building at the local university, so I could never leave my window open at night or else my room would get invaded by the smells of the monkey cages, the federal prison, and the frat houses. My friends said they couldn’t tell the difference.
Nonetheless, it was the perfect environment for a budding writer. All I needed to do to learn about human nature was toss a banana into the monkey cage—or a beer into the frat house—and watch the fastest primate turn his back on all the rest.
In those days, I would sit up late at night, the monkeys screeching and laughing, and incubate ideas for lots of stories. I’ve been trying to type them up (thank God for thumbs!) ever since.
When not writing, I spend time with my family and my dog, a giant Malamute named Indie.

Scarlet Bay #1: At first there were six little lawyers.
And then there were five…
When Aubrey Casket’s attempt to make it in the big city fails, she comes back home to Scarlet Bay, a tiny lobster village in Maine where even the pets dress up for the funerals.
Reeling from the loss of her job and haunted by her sister’s mysterious disappearance, she’s looking for a job to tide her over when a lawyer from her stepfather’s firm washes up on the shore outside her window.
The problem? He’s dead, of course.
But he’s also got something in his pocket that doesn’t belong. Something that perplexes newly-minted Detective Slate, once the most popular boy in high school.
Something that only Aubrey Casket, self-made genius, can figure out.
With the help of a quirky innkeeper and more chowder than they can suck through a firehose, can Aubrey and Slate find enough evidence to put her number one suspect behind bars?
Or will she become the next victim?
In the vein of Janet Evanovich and Agatha Christie, Scarlet Bay is the first book in a new cozy mystery series. It’s chock full of snarky humor, quirky characters, clever twists, and romantic intrigue, all clean of course. Wink, wink.

Red and Breakfast #2: They say that beauty is only skin deep.
Which is all it takes for a good poison to work its charms…
After Aubrey Casket inherits an old bed and breakfast in Scarlet Bay, she drains all her money to keep it afloat. Worried that she’ll go bankrupt before she gets her first guest, she begs the universe to send her customers.
Unfortuantely, the young guest who arrives is not the relief that Aubrey hoped for. In the young woman’s dying grasp, is the first page of an elaborate puzzle, one tailor-made for Aubrey.
And the woman’s lips are a shocking shade of red–even in death.
To make matters worse, there’s a new man-eater in town, a powerful woman who has ensnared Detective Slate in her deceitful web, a woman who leaves Aubrey to wonder if she and Slate have any kind of future together.
Desperate to keep the town from branding her fledgling business as a murder house and forced to work alone, can Aubrey get to the bottom of the red lipstick before she loses everything?
Or will more single women end up on the autopsy table?

Red Rum #3: How do you like your firewater? Straight? Or chase her?
After finally receiving some publicity in a national magazine, Aubrey Casket has her hands full trying to keep her bed and breakfast afloat.
But when new clues bob to the surface about her sister’s disappearance, she gets sidetracked from taking care of the inn and goes sleuthing for answers.
Unfortunately, those answers go up in smoke. Literally.
Now, not only is she accused of perpetrating the most impossible murder that Maine has ever seen, but everyone in Scarlet Bay thinks she is a witch.
Will the prophecy from an ancient riddle prove true? Will she and Slate move closer to a relationship–or will he become the murderer’s next victim?
And can Aubrey keep her head above water long enough to stay out of the cauldron? Or will she get burned at the stake?
