Overview: It should have been simple. Go to Key West to meet his online Russian girlfriend and spend a few days with her in Paradise.
Then, Tim Gregory woke up on a boat in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico with no idea how he’d gotten there and a death grip on a Russian nesting doll. The safety deposit box key inside the doll tipped him off that this was drifting away from simple.
Now, Tim (Tag to his friends) is trying to follow clues across Key West and all the way to Russia to find a mysterious, almost mythical, book authored by the recently deceased head of the Russian mafia whose contents may or may not include a fortune in ill-gotten gains, a blueprint on how to build a criminal enterprise of your very own, and/or a list of corrupt government officials bribed by the crime kingpin.
All he has to do is avoid getting killed by the Russian Mafia, or the American Mafia, or the Russian Police, or all of the above as he searches. He should probably find out whether his online girlfriend and the pretty bartender he met in Key West are what they seem to be. Are they trying to help him or joining the line forming that wants his head on a platter? Oh, and now the clues are in Russian.
So much for simple.
