Thalia is forced to face the reality of a Guardian’s burden, as well as the truth behind the Fantasy legends of her childhood. Arael questions how capable he is of protecting those he loves, and struggles with which promises he ought to keep. Hazel, ever closer to the pendant’s magic, and further from home than they’d thought possible, hardly even recognizes the person they’re becoming; can they truly save the world?
