Overview: Charles E. Tyer III isn’t your typical author. He is from the Green Swamp area in Polk County, Florida of all places, where hog hunting, fishing, alligators, and hard work in the sun is the normal way of life for most. He lives with his wife and two kids on a small farm. He has goats, chickens, a cow, a Great Dane, four cats, some saltwater fish, two snakes, and now two rabbits despite Charles telling his wife that he only wanted a fish. Much like his wife, the animals too are working their way into his stories. These are the things that most people know about Charles.
What most people don’t know is that Charles started writing his first novel when he was fifteen years old while attending Kathleen High School. His love for fantasy, science, action, and adventure, particularly Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars, inspired him to start several books of his own.
Fueled with a drive to be successful, Charles set aside his dreams of being an author and went to college where he graduated with honors from the University of South Florida with a business degree. He has since then worked in many different professions, including construction, auto repair, real estate with Publix Super Markets Inc. at the corporate office, and at Liberty Mutual Insurance handling property insurance claims. Through it all, he has been wishing he was in a fantasy realm far away from reality. In his pursuit of the American Dream, his books were pushed into the dark confines of his closet. He thought that he would never publish anything. That is until now.
Seventeen years after starting his first book, and during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Charles was forced to work from home for his day job, which granted him spare time to focus on finishing his original books that he started when he was fifteen. His wife, who is his alpha reader, editor, and greatest critic, has been an inspiration and his greatest supporter. Her love for romance, adventure, and nature (Natural Resources was her major in college) has played a huge part in the editing, plot twists, and revisions of his books. In fact, some of the main characters in the books have parts of her personality that Charles has become very familiar with over the years, although she refuses to acknowledge even an ounce of similarity with any of the characters.
The Orb of Origins Trilogy is Charles’s first release and will not be his last.

1. The Orb of Origins Trilogy – Book One: Another Wizard
When a young wizard awakes on the shores of an unknown land, the only thing he knows for sure is that his name is Darcus and he has an enchanted sword strapped across his back. Instantly Darcus is lured deeper into these war-ravaged lands and is captured by a slaver. Not trained in the Powers of the Realm or the Powers of the Void, Darcus is cast into a world ruled by an evil Shaläri Wizard king and prince who seek to rule over all men, elves, dwarves, giants, centaurs, and the Mërka Uran.Darcus must learn how to master his powers, protect his enchanted sword that has been sought after for over a thousand years, while uncovering who is friend or foe. His journey will not be easy for there are those who wish to stop him, control him, or manipulate him for selfish gains. Danger lurks around every corner and to make matters worse, powerful forces that have been dormant for millennia have awoken. The original Prime Wizards that once ruled and shaped the lands might not be locked within the Void as originally thought. The story continues as Darcus and his comrades continue their journey. Still unclear as to his past or why he had been brought to these war-ravaged lands, Darcus is sent on a journey to retrieve the Orb of Origins from an evil, dark sorcerer. If he succeeds and returns the orb to the elder of the Mërka Uran, he has been promised to have his memories restored, and more!Facing the Dark Sorcerer will not be an easy task though. While Darcus starts off with wyverns and a clear direction, his journey isn’t as straight of a path as he had hoped for. The Dark Sorcerer’s lair is thousands of leagues away, hidden in a frozen land long forgotten. In addition, the Dark Prince and the Mördari are relentlessly pursuing him. If that weren’t enough to hinder his journey, Darcus finds himself caught up in petty squabbles, a romance foreseen by the stars, and a prejudice that has existed since the creation of life itself. Darcus is determined, but will he even make it to the Dark Sorcerer’s Lair? You’ll have to read to find out.
