When she attends a party thrown by local restaurateur and businessman, Craig Evans, the last thing she is thinking about is murder. Even when Craig makes a surprise announcement and mysteriously disappears from the party, the thought still doesn’t cross her mind. But when she returns on the ferry after visiting a friend on one of the islands, she spots blue flashing lights in the distance and realises all is not well. Having solved the last murder on Bwytheney, Cara quickly starts digging for evidence and soon starts discovering even more hidden secrets about the local residents. Can Cara and Shadow discover the culprit before anyone else is hurt?
3. Stories, Secrets and Missing at Sea
Cara and Beryl are just a few days away from their book launch and planning a party. But not all islanders are happy about it. But a few days before the launch Beryl fails to return from a boat trip at sea. Is she just scared about the book or has something more sinister happened? Cara and Beryl both live on Bwytheney, one of the Nord Isles. Beryl has been telling Cara stories about the islands and now they’re releasing some of them in the book. But with so many secrets hiding on the island, some are worried that their family secrets are about to be exposed. The closer they get to the launch, the angrier residents seem to get. When Beryl fails to return from a weekend trip on her boat, Cara becomes concerned. She’s sure Beryl wouldn’t want to miss the launch and is convinced something has happened to her. Where is Beryl? Has she been harmed? Will she make the book launch?

The island of Bwytheney is preparing for the summer fete and the first Bake the Cake Competition. But during the chocolate fudge cake round disaster strikes. A woman is poisoned and collapses to the floor. As medics try to save her, Cara and Shadow start investigating. But will they be able to capture the culprit? Cara and her trusty border collie, Shadow, live on Bwytheney, one of the five islands that make up the Nord Isles. Bwytheney is situated off the coast of North Wales and life is normally laid back and relaxed. As summer begins, everyone on the island is getting ready for the summer fete. But just a few days before the fete begins, Cara’s friend announces that there will be a new Bake the Cake Competition. Not only that, but she has also arranged for the celebrity TV baking queen, Margaret Flowers, to be judge. Excitement and tension grows on the island.
