3.5. Chubby Is the Night: Max just wanted to have a night out with her cousin and go home. As a plus sized lass she didn’t fit in amongst the tiny blonde gazelles, but protecting her cousin from a perv in the alley changed her fate. In a moment of self preservation when a man started chewing on her neck, she bit the hand over her mouth, setting a paranormal chemical reaction into play. Now that she is infected with his blood, he either needs to turn her or destroy her. The vampire tribunal chips in with an option for Max. She can rescue their kidnapped Guild Master, and he will decide her fate. Sounds like the best deal of the evening.
4. Impractical Magus: Forced to join her family for the holidays, Haily settles down to a tropical cruise with too much alcohol and not enough company. While her sisters are trying to find their matches in the highest ranking magical families, Haily gets the buffet. Knocked into the ocean by chance, she finds herself surrounded by sharks and trapped in a war that revolves around her. Shocked into using her powers for the first time, she grows gills, rides sharks and masters a magic that she didn’t know she had.
Loki is the shark shifter Alpha and he takes Haily under his fin, showing her that she has nothing to fear about using her talents underwater, and that this is where she was designed to be. In the water, at his side.

5. Raven Dexter: Paranormal Midwife: Raven Dexter chose to pursue midwifery the moment she helped a teen friend deliver her baby. Fed up with unconcerned physicians, she studied until she could open her small practice in a moderately sized town. Her practice was slowly growing until the night a strange man demanded he come with her to attend a birth. Her introduction to the paranormal society was in the venue of delivering a small goblin baby that quickly took a chunk out of her arm.
The elf that took her to her first delivery moves in without even asking, taking care of everything from her appointments to making her meals, Eyleno Mik rapidly becomes indispensable and then becomes something more.
6. A Nexus Wedding: We join Abby and Xander on their big day, a huge wedding at Hotel Spectre. When the rings go missing, the bridal gown gets tainted with blood and the groom starts a fistfight in the garden, only the efforts of friends and creatures can make Abby have the wedding day she deserves.
Whatever fate had in mind, this will be the happiest damned bride that ever animated her lawn ornaments. Or else.
7. Turning Night: Max has lived as the Abomination for five years and this week is her anniversary. Like all vampires, she has to return to the point at which she was turned and relive her original attack and transformation. Max is prepared, but there is a little errand she must run for Gregori before the big night.
A panther shifter has asked for a bodyguard for his sister, and Max agrees to watch the woman as long as she can bring two friends.
Raven Dexter and Hellebore arrive in time to help the very pregnant shifter through a difficult labour while midnight elves wait to take the baby for their own.
After that, Max’s Turning Night is a bit of an anticlimax.
8. Hellbore’s Holiday: A holiday gone horribly wrong drops Hellebore in a prison and sets her on a frantic search for freedom with unlikely allies.
Hellebore wants some time off from the singing, from being pressured to perform. When she takes off in the beginning of December, she is shocked to find her normal portal turning into a one-way trip into a prison.
With her head a bloody mess, she is taken to the doctor, who treats her wounds with a confident touch. She gets the briefing on the prison, but one tiny detail is left out. Their prison is a holding area for a Christmas detachment.
All eight men are being held for crimes against their people’s traditions, but she finds that they are not all criminal. With a little bit of effort, she finds a way to send messages and gets in touch with the outside world. Having friends is a very good thing.
